What you'll be doing
The Head of Brand is responsible for designing and implementing the strategy, goals and objectives, setting budgets and commercial targets of their brand in alignment with the Vice President’s strategic direction for the short and long term. In addition, the Head of Brand is responsible for driving the development of their brand, predominately in its growth through new projects, whilst also reviewing and supporting the management of the current operational growth of retail, commercially and financially. The Head of Brand will enable our business to achieve results through driving the capability of its human capital and promoting knowledge and information sharing whilst ensuring compliance within the Group’s guidelines. Your responsibilities will involve:
- Develop and implement the business plan for the brand, aligning it with the strategic direction of the vertical, and seek buy-in from the Vice President.
- Set and monitor the commercial KPIs for the year, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and cascading goals to the team.
- Engage in strategic meetings with suppliers, marketing, merchandising, and regional teams to negotiate commercial conditions such as margins and exclusivity
- Lead cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing efficiencies in areas like cost management and automation
- Set and manage the yearly fiscal and manpower budgets for the brand, leveraging dashboards to monitor budget materialization.
- Ensure that financial statements prepared by the team accurately reflect the financial position of the brand.
- Set and track People KPIs such as nationalization and turnover rates, working closely with line managers.
- Mentor, coach, and lead a high-performing team to achieve the brand’s vision and business milestones.
- Identify gaps in competencies and manpower within the team and collaborate with the People Partner to find remedies.
- Participate in succession planning by identifying high-potential team members
- Develop and evolve a hybrid customer journey, building, growing, and sustaining a loyal customer community.
- Create a strong digital revenue channel for the brand, focusing on e-commerce, digital in-store experiences, and mobile app
- Manage investments in the store network (openings, renovations, and closures) and digital investments (e.g., e-commerce platforms, in-store digital experiences.)
- Ensure that IRR by store conforms to the Group’s guidelines
- Oversee and manage contracts and agreements with the brand and work with legal advisors where necessary.
- Develop long-term strategies for the category and brand acquisition.
- Identify gaps in the brand portfolio to meet customer aspirations and align with market trends.
- Review bi-annual performance reports for underperforming stores or retailers and ensure that remedial plans are implemented.
- Ensure that OPEX and CAPEX commitments remain within monthly budget allotments.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in Premium Fashion RTW brand
- Strong Stakeholder management and ability to nurture relationships with clients/ partners
- Able to influence without authority and to be regarded as a credible trusted leader of a business
- Strong Leader who is able to inspire high performing teams
- Experience in developing and managing a cross-functional team with a variety of skills and experience
- Experience of working in a fast-pace, matrixed environment
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and project management skills
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant retail experience with at least 4 years in a similar role
