What you'll be doing
- Adhere to all relevant accounting policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure controlled and consistent execution of work.
- Perform assigned tasks under close supervision.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate person to ensure timely and efficient resolution.
- Verify completeness of documentation submitted by the document controller/accounting desk.
- Prepare reconciliations for assigned suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs, with required supporting documents; submit to the Senior/Chief Accountant.
- Follow the reconciliation schedule for all assigned suppliers or entities and escalate reconciling items per the escalation matrix.
- Provide all required supporting documents for processing payments for assigned suppliers.
- Handle insurance claims related to lost or damaged goods for assigned suppliers.
- Allocate all prepayments made to assigned suppliers.
- Monitor AP aging reports and follow up on overdue items/suppliers.
- Participate in month-end and book closure activities; provide assigned reports to the Senior/Chief Accountant.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Oracle ERP system.
- Assist in covering team responsibilities and deadlines during colleagues’ leave, as directed by the Senior/Chief Accountant – Non-Allied Goods P2P.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or accounts payable.
- Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (Oracle experience is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
