What you'll be doing
As a Senior Tax Associate, you will embed a culture of compliance in the Group's commercial and finance operations. Your responsibilities will include the below:
Prepare and file accurate VAT returns for UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Egypt reconciling sales, purchases, and adjustments on a monthly/quarterly basis.
Monitor VAT law updates across the GCC and support with the implementation of changes in processes and reporting.
Perform VAT health checks, Tax review of agreements / contracts, analysis of transaction/ operating flows and support with ad-hoc advisory queries across the business.
Support with the delivery of Group-wide Tax awareness and training initiatives
Manage any VAT audits, assessments, and enquiries.
Draft Tax Alerts for the business on changes in the Law and/ or Regulations and Tax clarifications required by the business from Group Tax.
What you’ll need to succeed
You ideally possess 3 to 5 years of experience in indirect tax.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or VAT-specific) is preferred.
GCC VAT experience is preferred but not a must.
You possess a strong ability to interpret tax law and apply it pragmatically to business scenarios.
You have a solid understanding of VAT legislation and its practical application.
You have the ability to balance technical compliance with commercial realities
You possess good stakeholder management skills, with the ability to identify and initiate engagement with key stakeholders across Finance & Accounting, Legal, Digital / Tech, Business units, brands, buying, and product teams.
You are a clear and efficient communicator, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences, with a strong emotional intelligence and audience awareness.
You are self-motivated, proactive, agile, curious, and solution-oriented, with a collaborative mindset.
You have the ability to handle deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
