What you'll be doing
As an Analyst - Credit Control, you will support the Group Credit Control function by assessing customer credit risk, monitoring accounts receivable, and driving timely collections and improving the working capital, in line with Chalhoub Group’s credit policies and governance framework.
The role plays a critical part in protecting cash flow, minimizing bad-debt exposure, and enabling sustainable business growth across the Group’s diverse portfolio of brands and joint ventures.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Risk Assessment & Control
Assess and evaluate creditworthiness of customers by reviewing:
Credit reports and external credit-agency data.
Historical payment behavior and aging trends.
Financial statements (if available) and available commercial information.
Recommend credit limits, risk classifications, and payment terms in line with Group Credit Control Policy.
Perform periodic credit reviews and proactively flag deteriorating risk profiles.
Support Expected Credit Loss (ECL) analysis by providing accurate inputs on risk grading and overdue exposure.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
Coordinate with Sub Verticals to ensure timely collection of receivables.
Follow up on risky overdue balances with structured dunning and direct customer engagement where required.
Coordinate in resolving disputes, unapplied cash, with internal teams.
Escalate high-risk or materially overdue accounts in line with defined escalation thresholds.
Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with Commercial, Commercial Finance, Legal, Tax to:
Ensure alignment on customer onboarding and payment terms.
Support contract and credit approvals where required.
Maintain professional relationships with the internal stake holders to facilitate smooth collections while preserving commercial partnerships.
Reporting & Governance
Support in preparing and maintain AR aging, overdue, and risk-exposure reports.
Ensure Credit Master Data and Collections Master Data (Credit Limits, Payment Terms, Credit Score, Credit Risk, Collection agents, Customer Contact details) is accurate and up to date.
Support audit requests and ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance requirements.
Ensure all the month-end activities are completed in time as per the audit requirement.
Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives, especially in preparation for system transformations.
What you’ll need to succeed
Key Skills & Competencies
You have possess 2-3 years of experience in Credit Control/ Accounts Receivable in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment (retail, FMCG, or distribution experience preferred).
You have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field and preferably are ACT, CICM certified.
You preferably have an exposure to multi-entity or regional operations.
You have a strong understanding of credit risk assessment and AR management.
You possess an analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and payment data.
You are an excellent communicator and negotiator, with high attention to details and a strong ownership mindset.
You are proficient in Excel; ERP experience (Oracle / SAP) is an advantage.
