What you'll be doing
We are looking for an experienced Shipping Coordinator to join our Egypt Shipping Operations team. The role will be responsible for supporting import and export shipments in Egypt, including shipping procedures, customs clearance, documentation, and coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate should have solid hands-on experience with the Egyptian shipping and customs environment and be familiar with the procedures and regulations required to ensure shipments are processed smoothly from origin through to warehouse delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate import and export shipments within Egypt from initiation through to warehouse delivery.
Handle and follow up on shipping documentation and required procedures.
Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, carriers, and other relevant parties.
Follow up on customs clearance procedures and ensure shipments progress according to schedule.
Ensure all required shipping and customs documentation is complete and accurate.
Monitor shipment status and proactively follow up on delays or issues.
Support the clearance process and coordinate the movement of goods until they are received at the warehouse.
Ensure shipping activities comply with applicable Egyptian customs, import/export, and shipping regulations.
Maintain accurate shipment records, trackers, and reports.
Prepare and update shipping-related reports using Excel.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth shipment execution.
Follow up on shipping costs, documentation, and operational discrepancies when required.
Provide regular updates on shipment status and outstanding actions.
What you’ll need to succeed
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in shipping/logistics operations, specifically within import/export and customs clearance in Egypt.
Hands-on experience with Egyptian import/export procedures and customs regulations.
Strong understanding of the end-to-end shipping and clearance process, from shipment initiation through final delivery to the warehouse.
Experience dealing with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and relevant authorities.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills are mandatory.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP is required.
Candidates will be required to complete an Excel assessment as part of the recruitment process.
Cairo residents, particularly candidates based in or near Nasr City.
