What you'll be doing  

The job holder of this position is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and restoring handbags and leather goods, ensuring high-quality workmanship in line with the company’s standards. The job holder is also responsible for maintaining the original quality and appearance of products while completing repairs within the required timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leather Goods Repair:

* Inspect handbags and leather products to identify damages and repair requirements.

* Perform repairs on handbags, including stitching, zippers, handles, straps, and damaged components.

* Repair and replace damaged hardware and accessories when required.

* Carry out hand stitching and machine stitching using appropriate techniques.

* Restore damaged leather surfaces while maintaining the original product appearance.

2. Quality Control:

* Ensure all repairs meet the company’s quality and workmanship standards.

* Conduct quality checks before and after completing repairs.

* Handle luxury handbags and delicate leather materials with care.

* Identify and report any additional damages or repair challenges.

3. Operational:

* Maintain repair tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition.

* Ensure the repair workspace is clean, safe, and organized.

* Complete assigned repair tasks within the required timelines.

* Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and materials used.

4. Technical Skills:

* Apply appropriate leather repair and restoration techniques based on the product material.

* Use specialized tools and equipment for leather cutting, stitching, and repairs.

* Perform leather cleaning, polishing, conditioning, and color restoration when required.

* Identify suitable repair methods for different types of leather and materials.

5. Administrative Tasks:

* Update and track repair activities within the Focus system.

* Maintain accurate records of spare parts used for each repair.

* Keep an updated log of all completed repairs.

What you’ll need to succeed  

High School Degree

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
